mp3 excerpt
cords are fastened in the soil of tin cans and strained - both horizontal and vertically - through different rooms. similar to a three-way fullrange
loudspeaker system three different sizes of tin cans are used - low, mid and high range speakers. a three volt engine shifts the vertical cord in
a very fast oscillation. each vertical cord touches a horizontal one at a node to transfer the oscillation. the tin cans transform these oscillations
into sound and act as resonators.
p.s.: the german title could be translated as "conservational measurement" but has at least a double meaning: 'konservatorische' is a pun on
'konservendose' (german for tin can) and 'konservieren' (to conserve or preserve); 'maßnahme' on the other hand could either mean activity/action
or literally taking measurement.
